El Campo Pending Cases Are Not Warrants
El Campo ranks as the county's largest incorporated city in the 2020 Census, and its FY23 city report shows 40 Police staff positions alongside four Municipal Court staff. That split describes city functions, nothing more. It says nothing about warrant volume. The OCA municipal activity report tells a different story. It counts 6,087 active or pending total cases at the close of the September 2024 to August 2025 period, after 1,001 additions and 984 dispositions. Those are case-flow figures, not warrants or people.
Checking for a Warrant in El Campo
Begin with the official El Campo MunicipalOnline citation search and use the number printed on the ticket if available. The blank screen offers several search modes, but no public active-warrant row or warrant flag was visible. If a result is missing or the question is about a separate process, contact the court directly.
- Open the official El Campo MunicipalOnline form and search by citation number when you have the ticket.
- The form also offers name and birth date, driver's license and state, plate and state, Social Security number and birth date, or business name.
- If the result is blank or unclear, call 979-543-1212 or email court@cityofelcampo.org.
- For a records request about an existing city document, use the City's Public Information Request Form and name a date range.
- If the issue may involve custody or a county case, contact the right county court or sheriff; an El Campo search covers only city citation records.
El Campo Warrant Search Starts With Citation Number
Using a citation number narrows the search to the ticket and court that issued it. The El Campo vendor form accepts several other fields, including plate and business name, but the screen does not show a warrant issue date, bond amount, recall date or completeness notice. No person result was opened during research.
The official El Campo court contact page lists 979-543-1212 and court@cityofelcampo.org. Use those contacts for a missing citation or a question about whether a separate warrant exists.

El Campo Police and Municipal Court
El Campo Municipal Court handles city citations and court-date questions. Its official portal lists the court at 315 E. Jackson, El Campo, and gives 979-543-1212 plus court@cityofelcampo.org. The portal's weekday hours are shown by the vendor; confirm them before travel.
The official DPS approved-agencies directory lists El Campo Police at 979-543-5311. A dedicated current city police warrant portal was not located. Police and court have different jobs: ask the court about a city citation or recall, and use police for its published contact purpose.

El Campo Police Warrant Page Not Located
The sources reviewed establish a city police department and a municipal court, but no current El Campo public warrant page. The state directory verifies the police phone; it does not provide a city warrant roster. For a citation, the court portal and clerk are the direct routes. For custody, the county Sheriff's Office is a different channel.
Do not treat the city's staffing totals or activity report as evidence about warrant service or current status. Those figures describe city operations and court cases only.
El Campo Warrant Types
City process can arise from an ordinance or fine-only traffic citation, including a missed appearance. A capias or capias pro fine is a court instrument, not simply an unpaid balance. A probable-cause arrest warrant follows a different magistrate process. Ask the court which label appears on the El Campo case.
| Warrant Type | How It Arises | Who Issues It |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic or fine-only capias | May follow a missed date or an unsatisfied city-court judgment. | El Campo Municipal Court |
| Ordinance process | Relates to a city-code citation handled by the municipal court. | El Campo Municipal Court |
| Bench or FTA process | Can follow a missed court setting or order. | El Campo Municipal Court judge |
| Arrest warrant | Requires its own complaint and probable-cause review. | Authorized magistrate |
El Campo Staffing Figures Describe City Work
The city's FY23 profile reported four Municipal Court staff positions and 40 Police positions. Those staffing totals help explain that court and police services are distinct city functions, but they do not reveal current staffing, warrant volume, response time, or whether a particular case is open.
For a current citation question, use the court phone and portal. For an existing police record, contact the department or submit a request to the City Secretary. A past budget report cannot verify an individual court status.
El Campo Warrant Requests Go to Secretary
El Campo's Public Information Request Form is for existing records such as a policy, redacted log, aggregate count or executed historical instrument. It asks for a detailed description and date range, a choice of inspection, copy or electronic delivery, and consent to redact listed personal identifiers.
The City Secretary route is Kaylee Koudela at 315 E. Jackson, fax 979-543-0027, email kkoudela@cityofelcampo.org. A records request is not a live status check and does not require the city to create a new warrant roster.
Use the official El Campo request form for a policy or historical record question.
Inside an El Campo Warrant Record
No public El Campo warrant row was available to inspect. The city portal shows citation-search fields, not a warrant result schema. Ask the clerk to distinguish the citation number, any process number and the court status. The stamp below marks the gap in the public source set, not a real case number.
| Warrant or citation number | NO PUBLIC SAMPLE The city did not publish a warrant-number format. |
|---|---|
| Search identifier | The portal accepts citation number, name and birth date, license, plate, or business name. |
| Issuing court | El Campo Municipal Court for city citations. |
| Charge and amount | Confirm the court's case label and whether the figure is fine, cost or bond. |
| Status | Ask whether the matter is open, served, recalled, quashed or satisfied. |
El Campo DPS Does Not Check Warrants
A state FTA/FTP license-renewal report and a city warrant are different records. DPS says its license specialists cannot confirm warrant status. If a city citation was paid but a state notice remains, ask El Campo Municipal Court whether it reported compliance and contact OmniBase for the state reporting question.
A payment receipt does not prove that a judge recalled a separate warrant. Ask the city clerk for written confirmation and allow the state system's published processing period after court reporting.
How El Campo Warrants Fit the County System
El Campo Municipal Court and Police handle city matters; county custody or service questions go to the Wharton County Sheriff's Office, while Texas DPS handles a separate FTA/FTP report and is not a statewide warrant search. Warrant flow: El Campo Municipal Court or Police → Wharton County Sheriff when county service is involved → state compliance reporting only when a court reports an eligible citation. For the wider county routes, see Wharton County warrant records.
El Campo Warrant Records and Public Access
El Campo's city request form covers records held by the city, subject to Texas access and confidentiality rules. An executed adult arrest warrant may be public under state law, while juvenile and active-investigation records can be restricted. Ask for the specific existing record and date range.
Key Rules:
Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552 governs public requests and permits some information to be withheld.
Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 15.26 makes an executed arrest warrant and affidavit public, subject to other law.
Texas Family Code section 58.010 protects child arrest-warrant records except for limited disclosures.
